There are many ways to get involved with the Youth Commission and help to create positive change in the community:
COME TO A MEETING:
Commissioner generally meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month. Call 530-889-7161 for more information or email
BE ON THE AGENDA - SHARE A CONCERN OR PASSION:
Do you have an issue you'd like the Youth Commission to learn more about or take some action regarding? Ask to be put on a meeting agenda by submitting this form, calling 530-889-71611, or emailing us at email@example.com.
BECOME A COMMISSIONER
Applications for the 2018-2019 year are CLOSED. Youth who are 14 to 21 years of age (or in the 9th grade) and reside in Placer County are eligible for appointment. The term length is one year (July 1 - June 30) and youth may serve for a maximum of four terms.
BECOME AN AMBASSADOR
Ambassadors are full PCYC active members but they have more flexibility in activities than appointed Commissioners. They can participate in or lead PCYC activities to the level they desire. Some of our most involved and impactful members are Ambassadors. Sometimes, Ambassadors represent an interest area, organization, youth group, school or school group, or other segment of the population and serve as the official connection between the Commission and the group or interest area they represent.
Ambassador positions are open to youth (6th grade to age 21) who reside in Placer County. The term length is one year and may be reappointed each year.
