A CONNECTION, A VOICE, AN ADVOCATE
To advise the Board of Supervisors and other decision makers on youth related issues
To serve as a recognized community forum to discuss youth related concerns, ideas, and solutions
To represent and improve the perception of Placer County youth
To initiate and maintain positive change in the community and its youth
To promote beneficial activities, provide service opportunities, and encourage youth involvement in the community
To better prepare youth to become responsible and active citizens
The Placer County Youth Commission integrates the youth voice into local policy making by researching youth issues and concerns, relating their findings and positions to local policy makers, and engaging the community to create positive change.
There are many ways to get involved with the Youth Commission and help to create positive change in the community:

BECOME A COMMISSIONER:
Applications for the 2019-2020 year are currently closed. Next year's Commissioner applications will be available in the Spring of 2020. Youth who are 14 to 21 years of age (or in the 9th grade) and reside in Placer County are eligible for appointment. The term length is one year (July 1 - June 30) and youth may serve for a maximum of four terms.
